Through the Instructor Development Course IDC Staff Instructor course you can train the next generation of PADI Instructors while gaining in-depth instructor training knowledge for yourself.

Instructor Development Course IDC Staff Instructor Course

During Downbelow’s PADI IDC Course Asia you will be introduced, guided and taught about this senior level of diver education. You will also discover how the PADI IDC Staff Instructor works with the PADI Course Director in a way similar to how the PADI Divemaster / Assistant Instructor works with PADI OWS Instructors.

The organisation of Instructor Development Courses and Speciality course rely heavily on the assistance of the PADI IDC Staff Instructor, who can also independently teach the PADI Assistant Instructor course, as well as PADI Instructor Development Courses IDC.

A qualified PADI IDC Staff Instructor can sit in on the whole PADI Instructor Development Course IDC and would be expected to do PADI Instructor Development Course presentations to the candidates.

The IDC Staff Instructor works with the PADI GoPro Team to develop PADI IDC candidates, evaluate their knowledge and do open water and confined water presentations.

Requirements for PADI IDC Staff Instructor certification

Candidates for the PADI Instructor Development Course IDC Staff Instructor should have their own PADI Course Director Manual, as well as the usual PADI Instructor teaching materials (which you can purchase from us at discounted rates).

What do I need to start?

To start the PADI IDC Staff Instructor course you will need the following:

• PADI Master SCUBA Diver Trainer certification;
• minimum age of 18;

The PADI IDC Staff Instructor course includes the following:

• an audit of the full Instructor Development Course IDC;
• teaching slates for confined & open water;
• evaluation slate for the 20 diving skills;
• all fees for diving and the jetty;
• equipment rental (but no discount for own equipment);
• lunch and refreshments during diving days;

The PADI IDC Staff Instructor course excludes the following:

• Staff IDC application feed paid direct to PADI Asia Pacific: AU$ 115;
