Emergency First Response Instructor Course (EFRI)
The EFRI course Kota Kinabalu is about developing your abilities as an Emergency First Responder and to build on them with the focus on teaching those EFR skills to others.
You will receive additional training during the instructor course to enable you to teach the Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR), Secondary Care (First Aid) and Care for Children courses.
You will learn to conduct Emergency First Response course through a multimedia approach of classroom sessions, independent study and teaching assignments.
Your role as an instructor in the learning environment will be covered, along with specific goals and performance requirements in Primary Care, Secondary Care and Care for children courses. You will receive instruction on how to structure learning and the requirements of performance-based training.
Effective scenario-based learning experiences are included in the course, plus motivating students, knowledge evaluation, effective course content presentations and hands-on skill practice development.
Emergency First Response Instructor Course Entry Prerequisites
Our EFRI course in Sabah, Borneo has the following prerequisites:
- A minimum age of 18;
- Adult, child and infant CPR & first aid training completed in the last 24 months; or
- be a professional medical practitioner such as a physician, EMT, paramedic or registered nurse;
Emergency First Response Instructor Crossover Course
Current CPR / First AID Instructors qualified under a different organisation in Sabah, Malaysia or elsewhere, can earn the Emergency First Response Instructor rating through the Emergency First Response Instructor Crossover course.
Past teaching experience will earn you credit in the crossover course, which focusses on familiarising candidates with the Emergency First Response course philosophy and structure.
All CPR / First Aid Instructors certified under other CPR / First Aid training organisations in Sabah, Borneo, Malaysia or elsewhere are eligible to take part in the Emergency First Response Crossover course.
