Customised January IDC Wraps at Gaya Island, Kota Kinabalu

Matt prepares to take air from Kyla during their Buddy Breathing Skill demonstrationPossibly the hardest month in their diving careers wrapped up for Kyla and Matt this week as their customised Instructor Development Course came to end at our Gaya island dive centre in Kota Kinabalu.

Kyla and Matt took on two professional courses in 1-month, which is only advised for the most hardworking and dedicated divers out there.

They first took the course and qualified as Divemasters, before moving on the the Instructor Development Course.

“Toughest month ever, I am knackered,” said Matt. “Every muscle hurts, but have now completed my instructor Development Course”.

On the same course, Downbelow Master Scuba Diver Trainer Alvin successfully completed his PADI IDC Staff Instructor course.

Alvin has been with Downbelow for a number of years, and have steadily increased his qualifications.

Achieving the PADI IDC Staff Instructor rating sees Alvin join Downbelow’s elite Go Pro Team, responsible for training quality, conscientious and hardworking dive professionals such Matt and Kyla.

Cheers all around are appropriate. Congrats to all for their hard work.
