Any PADI professional is passionate about conservation and it is a duty to raise awareness and educate others about protecting and preserving the environment.
Our PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Course (IDC) Dive Centre is located on Gaya Island within Tunku Abdul Rahman Park. The marine park is a protected area, however on occasion nets may be found. But our island staff remove it promptly, and our Go PRO interns willingly volunteer for the experience too!
Through the involvement of net removals, coral planting projects, underwater and beach cleaning, Downbelow IDC candidates are equipped with greater knowledge to deliver teaching presentations on the subject of the environment and its conservation.
Downbelow so regularly raise awareness within the local community that we received the PADI Green Star Award, and we are also the first dive operator in Malaysia to be awarded this.
As PADI professionals, guarding our underwater world is a duty because it’s every divers’ reason for scuba diving!
