This week we welcome Tiago from Portugal who joins us for about 6 weeks on a professional divemaster internship here in Sabah, Malaysia.
Tiago is a 23 year old student who currently holds a PADI Open Water Diver qualification with just 4 dives.
Over the next month and half, in the care of Downbelow’s Go Pro team, novice Tiago will transition from the novice he is now, to a consummate diving professional with insight and hands-on experience in the dive industry.
With the free unlimited diving that all Downbelow’s interns enjoy, he will be able to quickly increase his logged dives, a particular minimum of which is required to reach milestones on the way to becoming a Divemaster.
Because we’re based on Gaya island, just 10 minutes from the city, we dive every day, which means Tiago will be able to dive as much as his bottom time allows.
His divemaster internship includes comfortable accommodation in Kota Kinabalu city, from which he is picked up from and dropped off to every day, courtesy of the Downbelow transfer minibus.
We look forward to Tiago’s time with us and will be updating his progress here, so check back often to find out what he and our other interns are up to.
