At the end of last year PADI revised their popular divemaster course for the first time in a decade, and added an additional requirements to better prepare the diving professional for eventualities.
As part of the new requirements Search & Recovery became highly recommended for new divemasters, and wanting to prepare our professionals the best way possible, it has been integrated into Downbelow’s Professional Internships.
Our resident Course Director Richard, always on the cutting edge of training, wasted no time to familiarise our divemaster interns Takeshi and Weijia with the requirements.
PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer Bob also paid close attention, as he is well on his way to soon be doing some teaching of his own when he reaches his next goal; PADI IDC Staff Instructor.
Search and recovery skills include students search for and finding small and large objects in a specific manner, and then returning it to the surface via a lift bag.
It’s all part of the fun during Downbelow’s Professional Scuba Diving Internships here in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Borneo.
