Scuba Intern Helps Out With British Army Adventure Training

Joe (standing) helping out with the group of 7 Flight from the British ArmyIntern Joe was barely settled in when the 7 Flight of the British Army group arrived for their annual adventure training.

As a returning Downbelow intern, Joe knows the drill and jumped in wholeheartedly to assist with the group of 13.

The British Army group will engage in various activities during their stay with us.

Amongst their diving courses, the British Army group will partake in PADI Open Water, PADI Advanced Open Water, PADI Rescue Diver and PADI Underwater Photography Speciality courses.

It is the speciality courses in particular, which interests Joe, as his ultimate goal on this internship is to gain his Master Scuba Diver Trainer MSDT rating.

Our resident PADI Course Director Richard Swann will help him achieve the 5 speciality instructor ratings required to qualify as a MSDT.

That’s why assisting the British Army group is not only fun for Joe, but also helpful for practice and observation of the speciality instructor process.

The MSDT rating is one of the prerequisites for becoming a Master Instructor.

We regularly host the British Army and HM Forces for team building and adventure training and now also offer Scuba Instructor Courses for Resettlement Training through ELCAS.
