Local Divemaster Intern Victor Spreads Shark Awareness

A few of the Danish adventurers with Victor (far right) learning about sharks

At Downbelow we care about the environment, which is always on our minds, especially when dealing with groups.

The arrival of our February / March group of Danish adventurers presented an opportunity to further extend the reach of shark awareness and recruit more fighters in the battle against their extinction.

Local divemaster intern Victor, always keen to promote preservation of our wondrous seas, took the opportunity to tell the 18 strong group form Denmark about sharks.

Sourcing from his own education and experience as a Divemaster trainee, Victor related to the group about how close to the brink of extinction many species of shark are and what they, as new, aware divers, can do about it.

Victor concluded with the Project AWARE Foundation’s drive to affect political change for legislation to protect sharks and collected 18 valuable signatures for the various Project AWARE shark petitions used for that purpose.

Well done to Victor for being an exemplary, environmentally aware diver and spreading shark awareness.
