One of the value propositions of Downbelow’s professional internships is the opportunity to gain a broad spectrum of invaluable experience, which very few dive centres can offer.
Downbelow has a constant stream of interesting and diverse customers who come to us for anything from a straight-forward day trip to complex multi-day group itineraries, which is, of course, great for interns who are with us for the express purpose to gain experience of all things diving.
The University of Glamorgan is one such group that we’ve recently hosted and professional intern, Liz Street, was knee deep in gaining experience helping out with the group.
The Glam students had specific research tasks they had to complete, which consisted of observing and recording various details of the marine environment, chiefly coral reefs and seagrass beds, around our PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Centre.
Liz was kept busy with logistics, which for a group of 19 divers is no small task.
While group 1 has just departed and Liz, no doubt, has learned a lot, group 2 arrives shortly, giving her the opportunity to put all her newly gained experienced right back into practice.
You go girl!
