A big congratulations goes out to freshly minted Professional Scuba Diver Gina who qualified as a PADI professional this weekend.
Gina spent the last couple of weeks with Downbelow at our dive centre on Gaya island here in Kota Kinabalu, learning how to be a top class PADI Divemaster.
Through Gina’s hard work, curiosity and dedication, she has mastered the knowledge and skills required to pass her Divemaster exam with flying colours.
Gina is now a fully qualified PADI Divemaster, ready to take on the world of professional scuba diving.
She takes with her stuffed bag of tricks. Thanks to Downbelow’s hands-on approach, between the oversight of resident PADI Course Director Richard Swann, and Gina’s own pro, PADI IDC Staff Instructor Bob, plus the rest of Downbelow’s Go Pro team, she had access to a diverse base of knowledge and experiences to draw from.
Gina was also at our dive centre while we hosted several groups, so she gained invaluable, real-world, hands-on experience dealing with groups, which will be very beneficial to her lucky future employer.
As Gina fins off into the sunset, we bid her a fond farewell and hope to see her again soon when she takes that next step on the Go Pro ladder to PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. Best fishes, Gina!
