Local Internship Producing Quality Professionals

Pablo takes (off) centre stage to present his first dive briefings

“Meet Pablo”, said resident PADI Course Director Richard Swann about a rising star in our midsts, “and keep an eye on him.”

Pablo is part of our local internship program, an opportunity Downbelow gives to talented, young locals who show a keen interest in the diving industry.

Through this program we’ve produced many, quality diving professionals over the years, most of whom who make up the staff at our PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Centre in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

Pablo has just started giving his own dive briefing, a right of passage of sorts for our interns. “I can see this one making Instructor level in the next 6 – 12 months,” Richard added about Pablo’s obvious affinity for all things scuba.

The journey from often not being able to swim through to PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor is laid out over 12 months. Every so often, however, a rock star joins the program who inevitably gobbles up all the information there is and beats the deadline by several months.

Pablo seems to be rocking.

To join our professional scuba diving internship and become a rock star yourself, send us an email or contact us in any other way, and let’s talk about how you too can Go Pro with Downbelow during our next IDC.
