Kota Kinabalu Scuba Diving Intern Gaining Hands-on Experience

Intern Katie with Downbelow's Instructor Tim Tam and guests Sin and Andy

Downbelow’s PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Centre in Kota Kinabalu is a hive of activity with groups, interns and guests all here for one reason: diving.

At the end of the month we’ll be starting our next PADI Instructor Development Course and we’ve already got quite a few IDC candidates, as well as Divemaster interns, at our Kota Kinabalu dive centre.

The future Pros signed up for our professional internships and are gaining the maximum benefit from as much experience as possible.

Resident PADI Course Director Richard Swann and his Go Pro Team dives every day in Kota Kinabalu, with a diverse clientele, which means our pro scuba interns are exposed to many real-world scenarios.

Katie Gibson is one such future PADI Professional. The  real-world, hands-on experience she’s getting is invaluable, because this type of experience can’t truly be simulated.

By the time Katie completed her Divemaster internship, she would have consolidated and solidified her knowledge with experience, and will face life as professional scuba diver with the confidence of seasoned pro.

To that end Katie recently got involved with Downbelow’s Instructor Tim Tam, who was taking our old friends Sin and Andy through the PADI Advanced Open Water Course.

Katie was on hand to assist, and had a great time helping out and making new friends.

As for the IDC, our next IDC course starts on 2 September, and we still have spaces available.  The IDC Internship, like all our pro internships, can be tailored to take place any time.

Get in touch and let’s talk about you can Go Pro, with Downbelow.
