Achieve Higher Diving Status with the PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT)

Our last PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) wrapped up earlier this month and once again, Downbelow sends out a big congratulations to all our candidates who passed the PADI Instructor Exam (IE).

The newly minted dive professionals will now decide the next steps they should take. Some will look for a career employment at the thousands of dive centres around the world and maybe some will decide to bring their knowledge and teaching skills to another level.

The next level after PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) within the PADI System of Education is to become a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT).

For those who have just completed the PADI IDC & IE, taking this course is extremely beneficial, because information that you learn on this course is useful when teaching other PADI courses.

As a PADI MSDT, you demonstrate to a dive employer that you have good experience in teaching diving and also can teach a range of specialty diver courses. This makes a dive center or resort more likely to offer you a position.

To qualify as a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, you must

  • be a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor;
  • have five PADI Specialty Instructor certifications;
  • have certified at least 25 PADI Divers;

If you’re considering to become a dive professional, either to be a PADI MSDT or even just a PADI OWSI, you can just call or email us and we will help you with your temporary re-location here to KK (if you’re not from around here).
