We’ve had a string of idyllic diving days at our PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Centre on Gaya island in Kota Kinabalu recently, right for the picking by the eager candidates of our September Borneo IDC.
Not one to waste idyllic diving days, our resident PADI Course Director Richard rounded up the IDC troops and headed out to the beautiful waters of the TAR Park for some Deep Dive Scenario training.
Deep diving brings a special set of considerations to the table compared to normal dives, which is why this specific skill is required, especially for PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors.
Things to consider during a deep dive scenario are emergency breathing equipment, specialised deep diving techniques, compass use at depth and safe ascent techniques.
Getting to grips with this and various other techniques early on, is of great benefit to the candidates of our Borneo IDC.
All Downbelow’s professional interns enjoy unlimited diving, so with the knowledge of what is required, it can be practiced whenever the candidates wish.
The next IDC is drawing closer and the excited is written all over the faces of the candidates for our Borneo IDC.
