It was a veritable scuba diving frenzy at the our PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Centre in Sabah, Borneo yesterday as students were learning and instructors were teaching everywhere you looked.
Our fresh batch of newly qualified PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors are all very keen to use their professional skills, and under the close supervision of resident PADI Course Director Ricard Swann, they are getting the opportunity to do just that.
The Gaya island dive centre is packed with guests doing various courses, so there is no sort supply of learning experience.
While Sam was in the one corner tying up the teaching of his first PADI Rescue Diver course, Oliver was in another where he just completed his first PADI Open Water Scuba Diver Course.
Matius, one of our local interns, was busy giving his first fun-dive briefing as part of his Divemaster Internship.
And, barely visible – surrounded by 10 Open Water students – were Wouter and Nena who are taking care of our European adventure group. The group is the next batch of eager explorers who are on a month-long adventure which takes them through Sabah, Borneo.
All our Interns are completing their Downbelow Pro Internships, which overlapped their IDC course. The benefit of the overlap extending beyond them qualifying as Open Water Scuba Instructors, is that they get to use their new skills in real-world scenarios, effectively becoming experienced Scuba instructors ready to take on the job market.
With our next PADI IDC on the horizon, now is a good time to plan and sign-up for our November IDC and Professional Internship in Sabah, Borneo.
Get in touch with us via email or contact us by other means and let’s discuss how you can Go Pro with Downbelow and hit the ground running as an experienced diving professional.
