Newly Minted Divemasters Gain Group Experience

Leanne and Sara checking the list to make sure everything (and everyone) is accounted for

They may only recently have qualified as PADI Divemasters, but professional interns Leanne and Sara are already knee-deep in group diving experience.

The big group of Danish adventurers we had on the island earlier this month for snorkeling, has returned. This time they’r here to learn how to scuba dive.

Downbelow’s permanent staff is, of course, leading the way in training and demonstrations, but our 2 new interns are getting plenty of experience helping out with logistics and making sure everyone is where they’re supposed to be.

It’s exactly this kind of experience that give Downbelow diving interns the edge when they step into the job market.

On a Downbelow professional internship we not only teach diving, we also give insight into the running of the busy dive centre, which is what we have at our PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Centre on Gaya island.

This practical, hands on experience is valuable to future employers, as it cuts down training time.

The group is here for a while yet and things are only going to get more interesting for our interns.
