A new intern joined Downbelow’s PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Centre on Gaya Island recently and is aiming for our February IDC in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
Hailing from Canada, our new intern Sam is currently a PADI Divemaster with 60 logged dives and joins us for the next 2 months.
Sam will be doing the Instructor Development Course with resident PADI Course Director Richard Swann and his Go Pro Team, as well as the PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer.
She kicks of with a PADI Rescue Diver course to gain experience with Downbelow Instructor Tim Tam and regular diver Katie.
Over the next 2 months Sam will be eating and breathing scuba diving as she joins our island crew who dives every day here in Kota Kinabalu.
With only 60 dives Sam doesn’t have to worry, because one of the perks of doing a professional internship with Downbelow in Kota Kinabalu is the free, unlimited diving.
That means you can be in the water for as much as your bottom time allows, making it easy to gain experience and meet the minimum required dives for the various stages of education.
We look forward to following Sam’s progress with her Instructor Development Course and diving internship.
