Local Intern Jerry is now a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver

Jerry is a Sabahan from Petagas, which is just outside of Kota Kinabalu, and he is currently a member of Downbelow’s local professional internship program.

Jerry, left, now a PAD Advanced Open Water Diver, with PADI Course Director Richard on the rightThrough the local internship program, Sabahans like Jerry join Downbelow for a working internship, which will eventually see them qualify as PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors OWSI and beyond.

The program, lead by resident PADI Course Director Richard Swann and his Go Pro Team, produces quality Scuba diving professionals that have been trained, from the ground up, according to Downbelow’s high standards of customer service and safety and strict adherence to PADI regulations and procedures.

Working while learning, the interns are exposed to every aspect of the dive centre’s operations, which makes for a very rich, multifaceted learning experience.

Jerry, who joined us in May this year, has gradually increased his experience and skills and, under Richard’s guiding touch, qualified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver today.

Next, he will start on the path towards PADI Rescue Diver, and beyond that aim for  PADI Divemaster.
