Intern Kyla Learns about Staffing Open Water Diving Courses in Sabah

Kyla (far right) assists Bob (for left) on a PADI Open Water Scuba Diver courseKyla (with Matt) joined us just before Christmas for an intensive 1-month internship to gain both Divemaster and Open Water Scuba Instructor qualifications.

Moving at pace, they have been integrated into the island team to absorb as much knowledge and as many skills as possible.

This week Kyla shadowed Downbelow’s Instructor Bob to discover the staffing requirements during a PADI Open Water Course, which is the world’s most popular diving course.

As Kota Kinabalu’s most popular dive centre, Downbelow has a constant stream of ordinary people who want to learn how to dive or increase their current qualifications.

The steady stream of real students provides the perfect opportunity for intern to observe and learn.

Kyla and Matt continues their hard work with the next PADI Instructor Development Course in Sabah just around the corner.
