Farewell PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor OWSI Roy

PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor OWSI Roy with resident PADI Course Director Richard on the rightLast Wednesday we said a fond farewell to PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor OWSI Roy from Hong Kong.

It was just a short month ago that Roy joined Downbelow for a 1 Month IDC Internship as a PADI Divemaster and, like all our interns, became part of the family (and furniture).

During his internship Roy got involved in skills development, training, studying, taking care of real clients and getting his hands dirty with the daily operations of our PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Centre on Gaya Island.

He also dived as much as he desired by taking advantage of one of our internship’s key benefits – unlimited diving for all professional interns.

Under our resident PADI Course Director Richard Swann, Roy also completed the EFR Childcare Upgrade, EFR Instructor, O² Provider, O² Speciality Instructor and, of course, the Open Water Scuba Instructor OWSI Course.

What makes native Chine speaking Roy’s achievement extra special is the fact that he had the added challenge of a language barrier.

Nevertheless, through hard work from both him and Downbelow’s Go Pro Team, Roy’s success was assured and he passed the PADI Instructor Exam with flying colours.

We wish PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor Roy nothing but success in his professional diving career and hope to see him back in Sabah, Borneo soon!
